Dafont, a site which has grown during the past few years is now one of the biggest destinations at no cost fonts. Urbanfonts, a site which has a clearly Web 2.0 style design and offers both free and commercial fonts ( for a fee ). There are 2 distinct camps when it comes to free fonts. However, for many entry level graphic designers and beginner typographers, free fonts could be a superb way to study what makes an excellent font and can offer a number of electrifying accents to their work.

The main difficulty with so many free fonts, though , is they are modeled after fonts that have been engrained into the people's mind, making them worthless for most semi-professional projects and all pro projects.
